FRIENDS, RUGBY, & INSPIRATION

I saw Invictus last night with the lovely SB--my rugby lovin'-Ireland travelin-hippie bf.

Very Good Movie, that tells a wonderful story and sends a great message.

Unfortunately, with my blonde (multiply concussed) brain the only message I received is that: Rugby is awesome.

(And the movie solidified my love of men who play rugby... Seriously, Go watch, go play, fall in love--you'll understand once you do)

Also, I discovered (possibly re-discovered--because I think that I've heard it before) the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley. Truly inspiring.

Invictus

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Have a great day everyone!
Saturday is a rugby day! Go find a match to watch!!
You can thank me later.
