Breezy

Necklaces: Handmade --- Top: Target --- Vintage Belt: Etsy/LookBackCloset --- Skirt: Etsy/Vintch --- Clutch: Forever21 --- Wedges: Kohls
Happy Saturday to you all! While you are all out enjoying the sun (at least I hope it's sunny where you are... still kinda iffy here in Oregon), I shall be working, as usual. Have I ever told you all how much I love my job? Because I really do. It's just kind of a bummer to work on Saturdays. The fact that I'm working today is made slightly more happy by the fact that I'm wearing this lovely skirt. It's so light and breezy. Perfecto.

When I wore these wedges last week, that was actually the first time I've worn them out in public. That wouldn't be interesting information except for the fact that I bought them over a year ago and they've just been kicking around my closet ever since. I've almost thrown them away about 10 times, but I kept on telling myself that I would like them someday so I should keep them. Well, someday has finally come and my super steal finally paid off (they were like $5 or something like that). Present-Day-Leanna thanks the Leanna-of-the-Past for not chucking these.
Yes, I am wearing 3 necklaces today. My raven necklace, one I got in Vietnam, and a red Magnesite necklace I made a few days ago. Why wear 1 when 3 will do?

New Jewelry

I took a sick day today since yesterday turned out pretty miserably for me (I think I scared a few customers away with the sneezing) and spent the morning cozied up on the couch with my sweet pup, watching episode after episode of Arrested Development. After being a bum for a couple of hours I decided to get up and do something productive with all my free time, so I decided to make some new jewelry pieces.

If any of you have looked at my Etsy shop recently, you might have noticed that I'm now focusing mainly on my wire wrapped rings and phasing everything else out, so the intention was to just make some rings. After poking around my bead boxes for a bit, though, some necklace designs popped into my head so I decided to indulge them. I ended up making 5 necklaces, and then 5 rings with the new Swarovski beads I got in the mail yesterday. So I ended up being more productive sick then I am when I'm healthy. Weird.

Anyhow, here are some pics of my new goodies because I don' have an outfit to show today (unless a hoodie, sweats, and slippers count as an outfit).

Outfit: Out of Hibernation

Necklace: Handmade --- Cardigan: H&M --- Purse: Forever21 --- Tank Top: Target --- Belt: Thrifted --- Skirt: Thrifted --- Booties: Kohls

Well folks, today is the day. I'm not wearing tights. When I proudly announced this to my mom this morning, she said, "Oh, I thought you were wearing those white tights again." Nothing like a little positive reinforcement to start you day, eh?

Even though I'm probably going to complain about how white my legs are for the next week, I actually do quite like being so pale. Having orange skin is a fad, and some day all the orange people are going to look at my pasty white legs and drool with jealously. At least that's how the story goes in my head. Until that day, though, I will continue to be a proud albino.

Also, this might possibly be the last time my brown hair will grace the pages of this blog. I'm about 60% sure I'm going to get it dyed and cut tomorrow (if not tomorrow, then next week for sure). I've been planning this cut for almost a month now, so I'm anxious to get it done!

Scratch that! I'm getting it cut on the 3rd...

Before and Afters from my Days Off

You guys remember the dress that I bought at St. Vincent's and I promised to fix up and make cuter? Well, I did just that yesterday. Truth be told it's still not very cute, but cuteness is all in the styling when it comes to dresses. Rare is the dress that looks cute all on its own. I'm going to wear it styled tomorrow so check back and see how I do.
Eeps, no make up!

How I went from long length and long sleeves to shorter length and shorter sleeves:
*cookies not actually required to hem a dress.
And now another Before and After, which I shall call Cleaning. Cleaning what? Cleaning this:

This is my beading room, where I make my jewelry. It was actually my bedroom back in the day (OK, so back when I was in the 6th grade), but when my oldest sister left for college I took over her larger bedroom ASAP and this one turned into the bead room. The desk has been getting so junky lately, though, that I was running out of room to actually make things.

The bed, which is actually never used as a bed but more of a packing station and place for garbage that I don't want in my own room, also needed help:

OK, boring before and after pictures over. A few random things...

Something Cute:
Pippppiiiinnnn.
 Something Pretty:
I've had my necklace rack hiding in my closet for a while but I decided it's so pretty I really should have it out where people can see it. Now it sits on the wall next to my IKEA lamp, above my IKEA fake flowers, which are sitting in my IKEA glass vase, which is sitting behind my IKEA glass jar that hold my pens, which is sitting on what I believe is my IKEA side table/foot stool (I'm actually not sure if this came from IKEA, but it kind of looks like it so let's pretend it is.)
I don't know you guys.... I think I need more necklaces.
Kidding!

Something Creepy:
When I visited Joni in Seattle this past weekend I stayed in her basement apartment, which naturally has its own bathroom. I hadn't really noticed this picture until Joni's son asked me if I had met Gus yet. "Who's Gus?" I asked. Then they led me to the bathroom and pointed out this picture to me. I hadn't thought it was creepy... until I realized they put it there to be creepy. Now I think it's creepy. I'm not really sure what Gus is.. I think it's a sheep, but I can't say for sure. Joni said I could ask Gus for wisdom. Weird.

Wow, this post really has no theme to it at all... it started out with a purpose but things kind of went downhill. Sorry about that. :)

Allie Photography Giveaway

My oh my aren't you guys getting spoiled? Two giveaway right in a row!

Allie of Allie Photography is hosting a giveaway on her blog and I have offered to donate one of my necklaces. You may recognize this as the same necklace that I gave away in a different giveaway on Farmgirl Writes blog, but this one has been so popular in my shop and I thought it would be a good choice even though you guys have seen it before (and may even be getting sick of it. Sorry!)
But even if you don't like the necklace, still be sure to enter because Allie is also offering 4 pairs of her handmade stud earrings! These are so cute and great for everyday wear!
My two favorites:

200 Sales Giveaway! - CLOSED

I've been wanting a good excuse to have a giveaway for a while, and what do you know, I woke up this morning to see this:
Huzzah! To celebrate the big fatty 2 that now sits in front of my sales count, I'm going to have the easiest giveaway to enter ever. Seriously, it's going to be easy.

The prize:
A quartz glass briolette necklace in your choice of findings. These briolettes are big and are a pretty dark blue/cobalt shade.

The findings choices are:
It's 25", but the winner can have the chain shortened if they like.
How to Enter:

1) Required! Leave a comment. Any comment you like. You can keep it as simple as "This is my entry comment", or you can get all fancy and write a poem for me or something. No additional entries for creativity, but it would certainly be appreciated! :)

2) Follow my blog. Comment telling me you did so. If you already follow, leave a comment telling me so.

3) Visit my Etsy shop and comment telling me what your favorite piece is.

I told you it was easy! You can just do the first one if you want, or do all 3 and get 3 entries! :) You won't get any extra entries for blogging/tweeting/facebooking about it, but it you would like to do that you are more than welcome to.

The deadline to enter this giveaway is January 7th, 2011 at 9pm PST.

And just so you know, I'll be converting to the traditional "random number picker" thingy to choose the winner of this one. I will also be notifying the winner differently than last time. I will do a post announcing the winner, and it is that person's responsibility to contact me (email or a blog comment is fine) to send me their address and tell me which findings color they want. If you don't check my blog often, be sure to make yourself a note to check back on the 8th to see if you've won or not.

GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED.

New Necklace: Turquoise Howlite

I just listed this new necklace in my shop. Check out more pics and details here.

I adore the color of these stones; they look exactly like turquoise without the big 'ol price tag.

It matches my new shirt from Macy's exactly. Too bad I'm not keeping it for myself...
