Mini Wallet Giveaway

Well, forgetful little me forgot that I was going to do a giveaway this week. I know I just wrapped one up last week, but I did say a while back I'd giveaway the mini wallet I made for the tutorial so I figured I better get on it before anyone decides to eat me. So without any further ado...

The Prize:

The prize for this giveaway is the mini wallet made oh-so-famous in the mini wallet tutorial. It has 2 pockets for credit cards, IDs, coffee punch cards, and anything else your heart desires, and 1 pocket for cash. Remember, this is a mini wallet, so you'll have to fold your cash in half to put it in the wallet.

Who can Enter:
-Anyone. I don't care if you live on Pluto. Well, actually I think shipping to Pluto might cost a lot, so on second thought I'm limiting this giveaway to residents of the planet Earth. Sorry, aliens.

Giveaway: Brydferth Bobby Pin

Good morning to you all! As promised, I've got a giveaway, and for the first time ever on this blog it's not jewelry from my shop! I'll pause for a moment and let you guys all do a happy dance.

The creator of today's prize is Hailey Rose, the owner of Shop Brydferth. I met Hailey way back when I first started on Etsy. She was the first person to include me in a treasury, and also the creator of 3 of the treasuries that have got me to the front page. We write often on Etsy and do the occasional trade, and I'm so thankful that we met and are friends now, even if just on the internet.

Aside from being a total sweetheart, Hailey is super talented and makes the most gorgeous fabric rosettes. She makes headbands, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, purses, brooches, hair clips, shoe clips, and pretty much anything else you can stick a rose on. All of her items are hand sewn and very well constructed. I myself have 6 of her items (2 headbands, 3 brooch pins, and 1 ring), and they are all gorgeous and beautifully made.

Updates and Giveaway!

First, I just want to let you know that I'm sponsoring a giveaway on my cousin's blog. There will be 2 winners of the giveaway... one will get a wire rose ring and the other will get a butterfly ring. It's super easy to enter, so head on over and check it out!

Second, you have probably noticed some changes here on the blog. I have a new banner and buttons, a lighter background, and I'm bidding adieu to a few things, namely Music Monday, Here Not There, and Good Reads.

Music Monday is ending because it's fulfilled its purpose. I had some really awesome music I wanted to share with you guys and I did that, so instead of going broke buying new music to share every week, I'm going to leave it as is. You can always find past Music Monday features by searching "Music Monday" in the search box. If I ever randomly come across a great new artist I'll be sure to share, but it will no longer be a regular feature.

Here Not There is ending for 2 reasons. Reason One is that it took a really long time to make the posts for it. I had to find duplicate items, save all the images, combine them side by side, put prices on them, and then put them into a post. It took forever. The second reason is that I almost always ended up buying something when I spent that much time looking at pretty stuff online. I've been spending too much money lately, so I'm hoping to significantly cut back on the time I spend drooling over ModCloth, Ruche, and all the other online shops I love. As with Music Monday, you can search "Here Not There" in the search box for all theold posts, but I will not being doing any new ones.

Good Reads is not actually ending... it's just migrated to the sidebar as a blog roll instead of its own page. I will be adding more blogs to it later, but I won't have as many listed as I did on the Good Reads page. There's about 100 thousand blogs that I love and I wish I could list everyone, but unfortunately I won't be able to do that. 

Well that was probably more explanation that anyone actually needed, but oh well.

Third:

Gorgeous. Absolutely perfect. I love it.

Not gonna lie, though, I'm kinda mad at her. See, I've always wanted my wedding dress to have long sleeves, possibly lace ones. I know that's pretty old-fashioned, but that's kind of why I liked the idea of it. But now that Kate wore this dress, you just know every one and their mom is going to want to get married in a dress with long, lace sleeves and within a few years this style will be totally worn out. Not cool, Kate.

Any of the made to order rings in my Etsy shop. You can see your options by clicking HERE. Any ring that has the words "Any Size" in the title is eligible to be won. The rings that are a specific size and say "Sold As Is" are not eligible to be won. At the present moment there are 8 different rings that could be won, pictured below:

 Please note that if for any reason between now and the end of the giveaway I have to unlist any of the above rings from my shop, it is no longer available to be won. By the same measure, if I add any new made to order rings to my shop before the end of the giveaway, those are also available to be won. Really, Guys, Really? +Tennis Pics

So remember when I asked you all about 2 weeks ago what you'd like to win in my next giveaway? So yeah, here are the results...

I mean, good grief! What am I supposed to do with this information? You're divided almost exactly evenly.

So, since you are so evenly divided, we shall let fate decide. And by fate, I mean my a random number generator. To keep things fair and still take you votes into consideration, necklace and earrings will be have 6 entries and a ring and store credit will have 7. So here are the numbers...

Rafael Nadal, Victoria Azarenka, Roger Federer, and Maria Sharapova giving interviews before the matches.

They all said boring things like, "Thank you so much to Nike for inviting me to play tonight". Like they aren't the top tennis players in the world and are being paid to be there.

Top: Azarenka vs. Sharapova (Azarenka won). Middle: Azarenka/Nadal vs. Sharapova/Federer (Sharapova and Federer won). Bottom: Nadal vs. Federer (Nadal won). They had all of the players wearing microphones for the doubles set so it was lots of fun. Except I got to hear Sharapova shrieking even louder.

And John McEnroe was there, too! That was a surprise. He was the chair umpire for the doubles set, and even got down and played a few points. It was great fun.

All in all a fabulous evening.

Vintage Printable

I was doing some blog hopping the other day and came across Vintage Printable, a 100% free source for vintage images, many of which are available in large sizes suitable for printing out. I love old prints and pictures, so I was thrilled to have a whole collection of them all in one place for me to scoop up at will. Some of my favorites (of the dozens that I've saved so far):
I don't know what I'm going to do with all of my images, but I'll surely think of something fabulous sooner or later. Either that or they'll just clutter up my hard drive for a few months.

The one thing I really am not in love with in regards to this site is the site itself. Horrible navigation, and the flash-gizmo that they use to display their images is enough to make even the soundest of tummies feel queasy. Lucky for everyone, there is a solution to the problem.

Once you click on a category at the top, you should see a page that looks like this. The outlined red box is where the flash player they use is. You will notice quickly that anytime you move your mouse over this flash player, the images inside of it will start swirling around at light speed. Apparently this is supposed to be useful. I just think it's dumb.
They tried their darnedest to hide it, but there is a tiny little link below the flash player that you can click on to disable to it.
The resulting gallery isn't ideal, as you have to open each image individually to view it, but it beats getting motion sickness and upchucking all over your computer.

I've been wanting a good excuse to have a giveaway for a while, and what do you know, I woke up this morning to see this:
Huzzah! To celebrate the big fatty 2 that now sits in front of my sales count, I'm going to have the easiest giveaway to enter ever. Seriously, it's going to be easy.

The prize:
A quartz glass briolette necklace in your choice of findings. These briolettes are big and are a pretty dark blue/cobalt shade.

The findings choices are:
It's 25", but the winner can have the chain shortened if they like.
