This dress is quite simple and the trick was to get the stripes to match. The main body goes down, but there are three strips where it goes across the dress: The neckline, the waistline and the hemline. Wearing the dress waiting to leave and out at a lovely restaurant with my family and in the old kitchen before going out clubbing.
Long before I was given a sewing machine I already had a booklet full of design ideas for dresses. As I was planning to use them, I went to a tailor to had them made, even when I knew I could have done them myself. Yet, it was a valuable learning experience, from which I no doubt learned. It allowed me to focus on the design I wanted while I was still too unskilled to complete my vision.
