A Few Etsy Dresses
A Bunch of Text
A few quick notes:
-
-You probably don't care, but I am wearing a super cute outfit today and my camera battery is dead. Boooo. That's what I get for not checking it before I left the house, I guess.
-Don't forget to check out my shoe blog!
Enough of that! On to the 30 Day Challenge. I'd doing 2 days again because I missed yesterday. Click HERE for the full list of topics.
Day 15: Your Favorite
I don't know any Tumblrs, so I'm doing what Mckenzie did and doing this for bloggers instead. Sound good?
When I was trying to decide which blogs to include here, I decided to go by the standard of "Which blogs do I look at every single day?" So if I don't put your blog here don't be offended or anything... it probably just means you should blog more so I will check more often! :)
1. Keep Collected
2. Kendi Everyday
3. The Clothes Horse
You can read about the above 3 by clicking HERE. Since I already blogged about them I won't waste space here talking about them again.
4. Allie Photography. This girl is like the sweetest ever. And she takes pretty pictures.
5. March Rielo. I started visiting Mckenzie's blog a little more than 2 weeks ago when she started doing the 30 day blog challenge. She is really crafty and I love the 'realness' of her blog, if you know what I mean.
6. Pretty. Little. World. I don't really know the best way to describe this blog. It's just so... pretty!
7. Clothes, Camera, and Coffee. I don't actually check this one daily, but whenever I do check it pretty much blows my socks off so she makes the list anyways. :)
OK, well that was a lot shorter of a list than I was planning on. Hmmm.
Day 16: Your Views on Mainstream Music
I think is general most of the bands that I like and listen to wouldn't really be considered mainstream. Raise you hand if you had heard of St. Lola in the Fields or Angus and Julia Stone before I blogged about them? Yeah, I didn't think so. I'm generally drawn to more indie bands that aren't well-known enough to fall under the 'mainstream' label.
So in most cases, I would say mainsteam music is kind of lame. I don't want to step on anyone's toes here, but I just don't understand the appeal of music like Britney Spears or Rhianna (I mean, aside from the effect that their scantily- clad bodies have on men). Let me provide you with a lyric sample to show you what I'm talking about:
"Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy/Grab my glasses, I'm out the door, I'm gonna hit this city/Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack/Cause' when I leave for the night I ain't coming back." Kesha - Tik Tok
Oh, good job Kesha! You rhymed to words Diddy with City, and Jack with Back! Someone give the girl a gold star.
"Womanizer, woman-womanizer, you're a womanizer/Oh womanizer, oh you're a womanizer, baby/You you you are, you you you are/Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer" Britney Spears - Womanizer
Womanizer womanizer womanizer womanizer, womanizer, womani- wait... what?
"Are we an item? Girl, quit playing/We're just friends, what are you saying?/Say there's another and look right in my eyes/My first love broke my heart for the first time/And I was like.../Baby, baby, baby oooh/Like baby, baby, baby nooo." Justin Bieber - Baby
I just want to remind you all that Justin Bieber is 16. He probably still thinks girls have cooties.
"When I met you girl me heart went knock knock/Now them buterflies in my stomach wont stop stop/And even though it's a struggle love is all we got/So we gon' keep keep climbin' till the mountain top." Justin Bieber - One Time
And he did this one when he was only 15! Even better! I think Justin Bieber should write a book all about love so I can buy it and sleep with it under my pillow at night.
I could go on all day, but I won't bore you.
This reminds me, though, that today is Monday which means it's time for a Music Monday blog. This is kind of sad, because I've been listening to nothing but Angus and Julia this past week so I have no clue who I'll talk about today. So I may or may not being doing a Music Monday post, just FYI. :)
Don't trust Rodarte
Style Inspiration: Luca Luca Pre-Fall 2011
The red and pale blue coats (1st and 3rd row) are both personal favorites from this collection, but if I got to pick one piece, I'd probably chose the dress with the blue skirt and white top (3rd row, second from the left).
WHEELING AND DEALING
It is second nature.
It's in my blood.
I am woman, hear me roar...
Who knows how long it will take for my shoes to finally arrive but for $4.27, I think that they are worth the wait.

Photo Shoot
Today I did a few pictures for some of my expired pieces in my Etsy shop. With how much I've been working the past few weeks my shop has been severely neglected, but I took advantage of this lovely Sunday afternoon to work on a few new pieces and take some pictures. For this particular pair, some wire-wrapped purple Quartz teardrops, I whipped out the chess set that I bought in Vietnam and used it as the background. I love how these turned out! I'm not sure this is the best way to highlight the jewelry, but they're fun and different than any other pics I've seen on Etsy, so I like them for the time being.
I think I love you, so what am I so afraid of?

YUMMY YUMMY IN MY TUMMY
Sorry guys.
Thursday night I whipped up this recipe:
But I decided to add an extra can of kidney beans, and then double the recipe.
I had every intention of taking the leftovers from Thursday night into work (maybe Monday and Tuesday), but everyone in my house decided they LOVED this snack so much that they ATE IT ALL... I only had enough to bring with me for my dinner tonight.
I figure I'll be making another batch sometime this week.
It was also so well received that I don't doubt that it will get used during the spring/summer months for picnics and parties.

Day 13: Somewhere you'd like to move or visit
Well, there are lots of places I'd like to visit, but not very many of them would I want to move to. So I'm separating these into two categories.
Somewhere I'd like to move:
Even though the people there aren't exactly the nicest, I would really love to live in France. On my trip there this summer I got to see Paris for a few days, and the rest of the 2 weeks was spent in Dijon. Dijon is in the middle of wine country, so as soon as you leave the city you are surrounded by vineyards. Gorgeous!
I would love to live in one of the smaller towns outside of Dijon. The houses there are so beautiful and really unique (at least by American standards). If I ever did move to France, though, it would be like at retirement age.
Somewhere I'd Like to Visit:
Oh I could never pick just one! I'll limit myself to four.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
There is a direct flight that goes from the airport in Portland right to Amsterdam, so one of these days I may just hitch-hike my way up to the airport and hop on a plane and go! When I went to France we had to change planes in Amsterdam, and any city that looks that cool from the air has got to be totally awesome.
Cape Town, South Africa
I need to go so South Africa to find a guy to marry because South Africans have the coolest accent ever. Have you seen District 9? If not, you should! Even if you don't like alien movies, you have to see it just for the accents!
New Zealand
No, I do not want to go hike to Mordor like a LOTR nerd. I want to go see the Milford Sound!
OK, enough of that.
Day 14: Your earliest memory.
I don't remember very much from living in Australia for a year, but I was only 3 when we went there so the memories I do have would probably be my earliest. Obviously I don't remember what happened first, but I do remember being scared of an emu (hey, its beak looked pokey!), baking play-dough in the oven, and little green caterpillar-y things on Fiji. Wow, great memories, I know.
Outfit: Mismatched
The necklace I'm wearing today was a present to myself a few weeks ago. I don't let myself wear the necklaces I make to sell on Etsy, so mostly the necklaces I have to wear myself are just the ones I've bought at Forever21 or received as gifts (and as you can imagine, I don't receive jewelry as a gift very often). Every now and then I make a conscious effort to make something for myself, though, and this necklace is one such item.
I love Chinese Porcelain!
I'm wearing something else new today... new shoes! I blogged about them on my shoe blog!
Seychelles for only $35? Yes please!
