Here Not There

In order to distract myself from how bleary and tired I feel due to not getting my coffee this morning, I went on the hunt for some new stock for my Here Not There feature. We have the usual group of suspects today... ModCloth (abbr. MC, as usual), Ruche, and Lulus.

To save time I'm no longer going to put the "Here:" and "Not There:" text on the images. The prices speak for themselves, so it's not really necessary to have them there.

Here Not There: Lulu's vs. Ruche vs. MC

As usual, MC = ModCloth. ModCloth actually squeaks in a few regularly priced cheaper items here, which is rare for them. They definitely have better discounts on their sale items, too.

Here Not There: Lulu's vs. ModCloth

A considerable amount of new followers have joined my blog since my last Here Not There, so I'm going to quickly do a recap of what Here Not There is. I compare two sites (usually ModCloth with either Ruche or Lulu's) and find the exact same items being sold for different prices. No, the cheaper versions aren't just look-a-likes, they are the same thing. I know because I always check close-ups of the fabric, and I check the materials facts to make sure they are the same.

For those of you have been with me for a while, you know that ModCloth is usually the expensive one that it always getting whomped on. I do want to say that even though ModCloth ends up looking like the bad guy, I still love them. They have a wide variety of pieces and have a great overall aesthetic to their shop. If I could afford it, I would shop there all the time. Even more than I like ModCloth, though, I like saving money. So if I can get the exact same thing somewhere else for less money, why not?

So here we go!
Lulu's on the left, ModCloth on the right.

There was one thing I found at ModCloth that was cheaper than at Lulu's. But only because it was on sale.

Over Sleeping and Day 2

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later, though I had hoped to last longer than a week of working full-time before the first time I slept through my alarm. Thankfully, my mom came poking in my room asking me why I wasn't up yet, otherwise I'd still probably be in bed. Unfortunately, though, I didn't pick out an outfit last night, and I didn't take a shower, two things which I normally d at night but on occasion I push off until the following morning. So naturally, the day I leave every thing to do in the morning is the day I oversleep. Cool.

So now I'm sitting here at work feeling all gross and grimy, even though I know that 2 days worth of grime is nothing to freak out about. I'm also wholly not cute today, which is a reason to freak out. So definitely no outfit post today. The other downside of over sleeping is that there is not nearly enough time to make a lunch. Today all I managed to throw together was my leftover Chinese food from last night, a Dr. Pepper, and half a bag of gummy penguins that have goo in their tummies. Sad day.

So instead of thinking about today, I will think about 10 years from today, as per Day 2 of the 30 Day blog challenge.

Day 2: Where I'd Like to Be in 10 Years

Ooh, that's a good one. I think I'll do a bullet list for this one.

-In ten years I'd like to be showered and wearing something cute.

-I'd like to be 28. If I'm not 28 in ten years, that would mean I died somewhere along the way, which would be a bit sad.

-I'd like to be married. I'm not in any hurry to get married, but I think if I'm not married by the time I'm 28 I would be worrying that I smell bad or something.

-I'd like to be working in a job I really enjoy. I don't expect that I'm going to land a dream job the second I finish up school, but by the time 28 rolls around, I hope very much that I'm doing something I enjoy.

-I'd like to be living somewhere with a big walk-in closet.

-I'd like to be walking with God. Not literally, since I already said I don't want to die by the time I'm 28, but I'd like to be walking with Him in His plan for my life.

-I'd like to be content with my life. Not necessarily happy, but content. I have no doubt that my life is not going to turn out how I expect it to, but I hope that wherever I end up and whatever I'm doing that I will be thankful for what I have, even if it's not the dream mansion with the 20x20 walk-in closet.

OK, I'm bored of this.
Look, a pair of disgustingly gorgeous shoes!
$154 at Lulu's.

Sigh.

If I Were Rich: Shoe Edition

You may or may not have noticed, but I most often feature dresses for my Here Not There blogs, and there's actually a reason behind that beyond that dresses are prettiest to look at. When it comes to online shopping (and real-life shopping, for that matter), I am least tempted to buy dresses. I'm not sure why... I suppose that - even though I really like a lot of the dresses I look at - I just really don't hold that dear of a place in my heart for mass produced dresses. I'm more into unique dresses, such as the vintage ones that I buy on Etsy.

Shoes, however, I am very tempted to buy, and as a result I severely limit the amount of time I let myself look at them. Whenever I end up looking at shoes, I always buy some. Always. Last week I went to GoJane.com, and no less that 15 minutes after I started looking I had already bought myself another pair of brown boots (hey, they were cheap!). Yesterday I made the mistake of looking on Charlotte Russe and I fell madly in love with a pair of tan ankle booties. I haven't bought them yet, but I do have them bookmarked and the only reason I haven't bought them yet is because they're a bit more expensive than I feel comfortable with. We shall see...

Today, though, I let myself look without fear of spending; I only let myself look at the expensive shoes, because even I have my limits when it comes to shoe shopping. I once spent $60 on a pair of shoes and regretted it for days, even though I do really love the shoes. So for my pretend shopping trip today I only let myself look at shoes above $60.

My top picks from ModCloth (abbr. MC), Ruche, Lulu's, Urban Outfitters (abbr. UO), and Seychelles Footwear:

$60-$75:
$76-$100:

$101-$125:

$126-$150:

$151-$175:

$175+:
My very favorite pair of shoes out of the whole group, naturally, is the most expensive at $222. Curse my expensive tastes! They have been bookmarked on my laptop for quite some time now, and I make occasional visits to it just to make sure they are still there. I would never buy them at that price so I'm not really sure why I care, but the thought of them being gone, or them not having my size anymore, makes me want to boo-hoo. May it never be!

Here Not There: Lulu's vs. MC/Ruche

I thought I'd start us off with the biggest price difference I've come across yet... $43! Seriously, that's an extra dress (or two, depending on where you shop), two or three tops, a pair of really nice boots, or 43 dollar store tooth brushes! Yikes!

Nothing new here. Just ModCloth looking silly yet again.

I do, however, feel the need to let you guys know that I found these duplicates probably a good 2 weeks ago and have not since checked to see if any of the items have gone on sale since I saved all of the pictures, or if the items are still being sold. So this info may or may not be accurate.
