COOTD: TYPE IT TO ME

Work, work, work...
It's all I do now, and I LOVE IT!

At times things are a little stressful, but that's the joy of it.

:)

Sometimes, thanks to my amazing friends, I get to enjoy a little play time.
There's nothing like a bar-throom pic to set the evening in motion. LOL

The rest of this week, and this weekend are going to be a little bit crazy, but I'll be sure to keep you updated along the way!

I hope you all have a good week/weekend!

Don't forget to check out the (start of my) blog sale!

COOTD: WHERE'S ASHLEY?

Here I am!
Right HERE!

I didn't leave you all, I swear.
I've just been busier than my wee little self can handle.
That's a lie. I've been really fucking busy, but not to the point of not being able to have a life, just to the point of not having time to blog or even prep-posts to be blogged at a later date and time.

Please don't think that this is me complaining about being busy. In no way am I complaining. I am extremely fucking excited about being this busy!!! The new job is going well, I've just completed my first week. Rugby practice has started again--THANK GOD! I'm training a new guy at the liquor store/night job so that I can finally have what resembles a life, and not have to work 6 nights a week in addition to the day job I work. I've been a busy little bee, and it is A-Okay with me.

With that said: how about a COOTD post to make up for my absence?
Would you like that? I sure know that I would.

Here are a few outfits from my first week and second week (this week) of work (I forgot to take pictures on the other days, but I'll try to get better with it once I get into the new morning routine that I'll be starting this week--it includes the GYM in the AM before work. We'll see how this goes.)

I hope you all have a great weekend!!!
If you happen to be on the East Coast I hope you all are staying dry and that your neighborhoods aren't flooding!
Things are getting pretty crazy out here in MD!

Adios!

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "CALIFORNIA SOUL (DIPLO REMIX)" MARLENA SHAW

I finally decided to pay attention to the Fall 2011 Target add on tv today, instead of just muting the commercials.
GOOD IDEA!
I discovered a new song (technically an old song), that I absolutely DIG!

(I also love the concept of the video--bocce ball!
I really want to try and play, but of course I have to find time...
When I was in Georgia last year it started to get BIG in Atlanta, and I never got a chance to go and check it out :( Hopefully I can talk the roomies into it. I think we'd all have a good time with it!)

With a little internet sleuthing I was able to track down the artist and the remix
(which is what I'm featuring here today).

Check it:

Oh, and if you're in the Brawl-timore area and want to check out a little Bocce Ball yourself check out one of these sites:

and this article, which was pretty cool:

COOTD: GIANT GIRL

Hmmm.
Crooked camera?

It's sad when you're tall and you have to bend over sideways,
like your singing
just to look in the mirror.

Woe is my TALL life.
I need to invest in a GRANDE mirror ASAP.

WORK VACATION: COOTD: SEA/SEE FOOD :)

Boy oh Boy did my co-workers and I dine-out during the conference.
Our dinner bill from Thursday night is not something I EVER want to have to handle.
O-U-C-H
and yet SOOOO DELICIOUS.

I heart seafood,
but not your SEEfood.
That's just plain nasty...
and if you SEEfood me,
I'll SEEfood you right back ;)
I'm very mature like that.

WORK VACATION: BEACH BUM

I've never been a big beach person...

Until this past week.
Now I'm a Born-Again-Beach-Bum.
I spent Wednesday thru Friday on the beach for a minimum of 2 hours a day... and really that was only on Friday because I had to head back to Towson and get back to work, on the other days you could find my behind on my beach towel for a bare minimum of 5 hours :) , all of me lubed up with sunscreen and plugged into my ipod and my book.

It was a GOOD work trip :)

In my Target cover up and new bikini from South Moon Under

Of course on the last day I get a bad sunburn...
on my ass.
Not my back, or my arms, or my face.
Dammit ;)

COOTD: BLACK & WHITE

My favorite color (or hue) scheme.
Creative I know.

Blouse: Calvin Klein // Skirt: GAP // Belt: F21 // Tights: Target // Shoes: Lands End Canvas

I have been applying to jobs like a mad woman lately (if you're been paying attention to my tweets), and at this point in the post interview application process, I have been hearing nothing but positive responses.
Now I'm in limbo/the waiting stage...
Hoping to high hell that the offers start coming in (relatively) soon.
Cross your fingers for me!!!!

Happy Thursday!
Woo-freaking-Hoo for the 4 day work week this week!
The only benefit of working on Saturday is that it's a half day--
count yourselves lucky :)

p.s. SexyMan spotted in the workplace today!
Looking forward to more on that one later...

WEEKEND PHOTO RECAP

Roommate G stayed in her clothes and slept most of the RiverBeach trip
She had an excuse... she burned her booty the day before.

 The RiverBeach.
Like the real beach, but not.
It's a hidden secret.
One that I now know how to get to!!

Roommate M.
Girl jacked my SunnyHat.
Bitch :)

Technically my hat whored around all Sunday afternoon.
Big Slut.

RiverBeach.
Smelly towel.
Warm sand.
Perfect water.

Remnants of a bonfire.
The makings of a bonfire.
A bonfire we didn't get to see.

Roommate M and the WhoreHat.
Now my new/official caller ID photo for her.
I think Roommate G is using it too :)

Outfit: I'm So Blue

Necklace and Rings: Handmade --- Top and Purse: Forever21 --- Belt and Skirt: Thrifted --- Shoes: Target

Nope, I'm not sad. I'm just wearing lots of blue today!

I think I need to give this shirt a break here pretty soon...I wear it way too much. It's just such a lovely cut and color, and it looks great tucked into skirts. Definitely one of my favorite Forever21 purchases to date. And it was only $10! :)
Chinese Porcelain Ring, Tiger's Eye Ring

No outfits for the past two days, not because I didn't wear clothes, but because they were my lazing around the house clothes. As much as I love having a day or two off each week now, I actually caught myself thinking I'm bored yesterday. Not a good sign.

Well, for those of you that read my shoe post yesterday, you may be thinking these shoes look awfully familiar. Yesterday I made a Target run with the intention of trying on the shoes I was drooling over online just so I'd know what size to order/buy if I ever did decide to get them. Bad, bad decision. Once I had these guys on my feet there was no way I was going to walk out of the store without getting them. They're absolutely perfect, and so far, actually quite comfortable.

The most positive aspect of the trip, though, was that I realized I actually do not like the strappy wedges and the mustard wedges, which were my previous favorites after looking online. Neither of them felt very good on my feet. So even though I ended up buying a pair, I saved myself from the hassle of buying and returning the other two that I probably would have bought before.

I haven't given up on the Earthies, though. Still debating if I want them for that price...

Shoe Shopping

I made the rather poor decision to look at Target shoes online tonight. I didn't buy any, but only because I just ordered 2 pairs from GoJane a few days ago. Seriously Target, why do you have to make my life so hard? I mean, who makes such ridiculously cute shoes and sells them for such reasonable prices, tempting poor, shoe-addicted girls like me to buy them? Jerks.

My favorites:
$29.99, here
$19.99, here
$24.99, here
$24.99, here
$24.99, here

*Sigh*

Last week I was trying on some Earthies shoes at a shoe shop in my town. For those of you who don't know about Earthies (I didn't until a few weeks ago in Seattle), they are basically the most comfortable heels you will ever put on your feet, providing you like arch support. Because boy oh boy do they ever have support. I tried on this pair and really liked them:
The other thing about Earthies, though, is that they're expensive. Like, $130 expensive. A lot of money? Yes. Is it worth it? Well, depends on the person, but I'm tempted to say yes. Seriously, these shoes are comfortable. I walked around the store in them for quite a while and they felt fabulous. I didn't buy them because I decided I should probably think about it for a few days before spending that much, but after seeing these adorable shoes at Target I'm having second thoughts. I mean, I could get all 5 pairs of Target shoes and still have $5 left over versus buying the Earthies. Would they be as comfortable? Heck no. But still... 5 pairs...

Quick, friends, help me decide what to do! If I went the Target route I wouldn't get all 5. Probably just the first and last pair (mustard mustard mustard!) and maybe the 3rd as well.

Or better yet, tell me to stop buying shoes! That would be ideal. But if you're anything at all like me, you won't be able to resist a little vicarious spending.

COOTD LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE

I've been sick ALL DAMN WEEK.
Apparently so have many other bloggers.
Very weird coincidence.
I think there's an internet conspiracy afoot.
But then again, that's probably just the medicine talking.

Don't ask...
I'm sick remember!
 Blazer: Target
Top: Marshalls
Jeans: Silver Sienna Skinnies
Boots: Aldo
 GPOYW from Wednesday duh... ;)

 My favorite photographer, the Sister-Cousin,
was trying to interrupt my self-portrait
Then I turned the tables and tried to include her...
She wasn't in the picture mood...
And ended up on the floor :)

Bahahah!
I love her!

If you're one of the many who ended up sick this week, I hope you're on the road to feeling better.
I'm hoping to have this whole sickness kicked by this weekend, but each day I'm sick something else gets tacked onto my list of ailments.
I feel like a walking germ factory.
Maybe I'm getting payback from my body for only getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night for the past 3 months...
my body hates me.
