WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN YOURS" SHOOTER JENNINGS & HIEROPHANT

Heard this on last week's Sons of Anarchy. (A show you should watch if you don't already)

Listen and enjoy.

And then prepare to get mind fucked when the lyrics hit close to home.
Damn.
Truth.

Just because I like you (and this song WAYYYY TOOO MUCH for my own good).

All of This Could Have Been Yours LYRICS:

I had a cure, for your disease
but you threw it away
and you made it clear I was not welcome on these seas
and you threw it away

so I sailed and I sailed for so long
my hair grew long and my heart grew cold
I face certain death without you near

and I felt the storm and swam until the skies were clear
and I found a home along this crooked road

and all of this would have been
all of this could have been yours

all of this should have been

all of this could have been yours

black clouds roll, right over red doors
as the waves were high
so was i
and the moon never looked so angry
as when your walls came crumbling down.

It was so beautiful

It was so peaceful

All the destruction, it was quiet

all of this would have been
all of this could have been yours

all that you love, will be carried away
oh all that you love, will be carried away

all of my pain, that you put on my name

all of my doubt, and all of my shame

all of my guilt, my denial and fear
all of my hatred and all of my tears

all of the time that I couldn't go home
all of the times that I froze all alone

all of the sadness all of the lies

all of the shadows that blackened my eyes

all of the servants, who cheated, who stole
all of the colors from the depths of my soul

all of the wounded, that you left for dead
now creep in the corner, they're all in my head

all of the dreams that you made nightmares
all of the silence, deafening stares

all of the ships who can't carry loads
you wrecked in anger, along distant shores

all of this would have been

all of this could have been yours

all of this should have been
all of this could have been yours

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "BEASTIE MOUSE" WICK-IT THE INSTIGATOR

Thanks to the musical influences of my new co-worker: @jwinnz, I have now added a shit-ton of new music to my mix.

This song is included, and I am most definitely happy that it is now in the rotation!

Listen, enjoy, and repeat.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of the Reggae, but the rest of the mash up is AMAZING!
Oh and...
If you're not following me on twitter, you should be, but it's okay, I won't hate you...
BUT I will hate you just a little bit if you don't follow
my new little brother from another mother and co-worker:

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "SAIL" AWOLNATION

I heard this song in the car a few nights ago and was HOOKED.

Check it:

However, I have heard a sampling of this song, or the song that is sampled by this song, in a movie somewhere and I CANNOT remember what freaking movie it was.

I've been racking my brain for days now. It is seriously bugging me now.
Does it sound familiar to any of you?

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "BARBARA STREISAND" DUCK SAUCE

Commercials are apparently my source for new (at least to me) music.
Vitamin Water Revive is this weeks commercial.
Can you dig it?

Because I can,
and I am!

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "CALIFORNIA SOUL (DIPLO REMIX)" MARLENA SHAW

I finally decided to pay attention to the Fall 2011 Target add on tv today, instead of just muting the commercials.
GOOD IDEA!
I discovered a new song (technically an old song), that I absolutely DIG!

(I also love the concept of the video--bocce ball!
I really want to try and play, but of course I have to find time...
When I was in Georgia last year it started to get BIG in Atlanta, and I never got a chance to go and check it out :( Hopefully I can talk the roomies into it. I think we'd all have a good time with it!)

With a little internet sleuthing I was able to track down the artist and the remix
(which is what I'm featuring here today).

Check it:

Oh, and if you're in the Brawl-timore area and want to check out a little Bocce Ball yourself check out one of these sites:

and this article, which was pretty cool:

This song was most definitely BLASTING out of my dorm...

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "NO LOVE" EMINEM FT. LIL WAYNE

This song is pretty poignant for me.
Very applicable to many aspects of my life.

And, well, it's just a good song.
Since receiving the CD from my #BlogSoulmate Mary-Nevin the other day
I might have been rapping along to it on repeat...
But until you've driven next to me on 95 and heard it on BLAST
You've got NO PROOF.

"It's a little too late to say that you're sorry now
You kicked me when I was down
Fuck what you say, just (don't hurt me, don't hurt me no more)
That's right bitch: and
I don't need you, don't want to see you
Bitch you get (no love)
You show me nothing but hate
You ran me into the ground

But what comes around goes around
I don't need you (don't hurt me)
You (don't hurt me no more)
That's right, and I don't need you, don't want to see you
You get (no love)
Bitch you get (no love)
And I don't need you"

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "LOOK AT ME NOW"

I stumbled across this internet sensation...
and needless to say,
I AM NOW ADDICTED
(to both the duo, Karmin, and to this song in general).

My addiction is difficult to deal with because I can't decide which version I like more.

Karmin's cover
or the original.

There is NOTHING like some good 'ole Busta Rhymes
but damn if Amy, of Nick and Amy of Karmin,
doesn't kick MAJOR ASS at Busta's part
and do the man some Justice!

If you didn't catch my preview tweet the other night...
I've got a link to a free download of Karmin's cover...
Well worth the...
JUST KIDDING, IT's FREEEEEEEEE :)

EDIT:
This group is RIDICUOLOUS!
I highly recommend you giving their YouTube page and their main site a LookSee!

They are FREAKING talented to the max! <--Yes, I said "to the max"... lol

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "ROLLING IN THE DEEP" COVER by DAVID COOK

I thought of my favorite blogging Georgia girl, Mary-Nevin of Serenity & Style, as SOON as I heard the first 5 seconds of this song.
She loves her some cover tunes and Adele...
And ironically or coincidentally, however it fits, she posted a blog the same day that I found this cover, about another cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep by John Legend (who is friggin' good too).

Great Minds... I'm telling you.

So, No Lie.
It took me all of 5 seconds to know that this was going to be a KICK ASS cover!

And I was right... after I listened to the next 15 seconds, 49 seconds, and then the whole thing.

Check it:

WHAT I'M TUNING INTO: "HEAD FULL OF DOUBT/ROAD FULL OF PROMISE"

Stumbled across this song a few months ago, but I can't for the life of me remember where...
Don't you hate that?

Well then I caught their performance on the Grammy's (did you see it?!--with Bob Dylan and Mumford & Sons--very good!) and ever since then I have been playing this song on my Droid.

I don't often post lyrics to the videos that I post, but these are definitely post worthy:

There’s a darkness upon me that’s flooded in light
In the fine print they tell me what’s wrong and what’s right
And it comes in black and it comes in white
And I’m frightened by those that don’t see it

When nothing is owed, deserved or expected
And your life doesn’t change by the man that’s elected
If you’re loved by someone, you’re never rejected
Decide what to be and go be it

There was a dream and one day I could see it
Like a bird in a cage I broke in and demanded that somebody free it
And there was a kid with a head full of doubt
So I’ll scream til I die and the last of those bad thoughts are finally out

There’s a darkness upon you that’s flooded in light
And in the fine print they tell you what’s wrong and what’s right
And it flies by day and it flies by night
And I’m frightened by those that don’t see it

There was a dream and one day I could see it
Like a bird in a cage I broke in and demanded that somebody free it
And there was a kid with a head full of doubt
So I’ll scream til I die and the last of those bad thoughts are finally out
