BREAKDOWN

Stranded.
It's alright.

Except for when the roadside assistance guy pulled up behind my car... he was kinda sketch.
Now I'm just chill-axin' at mile marker 65.3 on 95 N waiting for my uncle to come help.

I guess it's a good thing I brought my lunch today. Traffic on 95 S looks a little crummy right now, I might be here for a while waiting.

The roadside assistance guy is still in his truck behind my car, maybe he is hanging out until my uncle comes. Or maybe he is waiting for one of the idiots exceeding the speed limit to come charging into my car. That's definitely not a pleasant scenario, but a scenario none-the-less.

So now here I sit, listening to 102.7 JackFM. Was it a coincidence that "Breakdown" was on when I brokedown? How about the fact that "Kyrptonite" is playing, and I am waiting for a rescue; not from Superman, but from my uncle... he's kinda like Superman, only shorter, and without the spandex bodysuit. Aww shit, the radio is play "Angels" now, I'm totally done for.

 Not Bueno.

That Tweet Thing You Do.

The Long Version:
I was reading on Miss Claire's blog today about how she joined twitter. I used to do twitter quite a lot for my Etsy shop, but I made the mistake of going for quantity over quality in my followers and followed just about everyone and anyone. It got pretty spammy and junky so I stopped using it, but I decided today to start a new account and do this the right way and only follow people I actually care to read about.

The Short Version:
You can follow me on Twitter now. Why? Who cares why.

If you have a twitter account, please follow me and tweet at me or something, or if you want to be lazy (understandable), you can just leave your twitter username in the comments and I'll look you up.

Ohh, no pictures for this post. Darn! Let's resolve that situation by checking in on my dear puppy Pippin, who I haven't showed off on my blog in a while.
Well hello there, Pippin, how are you doing today?
Angelic, as usual.

Hey if you are paying attention to my Twitter you would have just read of a pretty sweet steal on Amazon.

A TWITTER-IFIC FUNNY

And it goes a little something like this:

Last evening I blogged and tweeted about my Sunday trip to ATL... about the food, the sexy manager, the food, the beer... did I mention the food?

Well this morning I received a notification via daDroid2 that I had a new @ message on my Twitter... I checked it, then unfortunately found myself with a serious case of the WTF giggles.

RANDOM AS HELL:
[Funny Story to Follow]

I get a tweet from the bar [Fado]where I spied the sexy manager!

[WTF? you say... I know, me too]

Simply because I went a little tweet happy yesterday after I had a few Magners (Irish Cider--TRY IT, IT IS DELICIOUS!) when I spotted a piece of interesting man-candy from across the bar... Someone from the bar decided to get a little tweet happy back.

I'm just going to show you Tweeting of Events and let the tweets explain for themselves:
(starting with my tweets from yesterday afternoon)

So the gist of the story is:

Be careful what you tweet
because
random people who run Twitter accounts for bars
will find your tweets
and help you figure out which employees you were checkin' out...

Gee, thanks Fado Atlanta Twitter Account Manager.
You helped my put a name and an Irish accent to the sexy face I was scoping out on your rooftop bar yesterday.

Seriously.
Random.

I kinda feel like a creeper now.
Not gonna lie.

BUT still, it is quite a funny story.
If not for you then definitely for me.
I guess you just had to be there.

TUCKER FOR TARGET HOLLAR

Apparently my local Target heard my tweet this morning:

... because they had the new Tucker for Target line (well, most of the line) STOCKED!

 Woop-Woop!! & Hollar!!

In honor of my excellent table service this past Wednesday at the Bistro, and the RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME tip that I received from a customer, I decided to treat myself to a little bit of Tucker :)

I ended up picking up 3 dresses and trying on most of the line--except for the few dresses or tops that they didn't have available in my size. I could have sworn that I grabbed the blouses to take into the fitting room, but once I got there I realized that I only grabbed tanks and dresses. Oh well. You'll get the gist of most of the clothing line's sizes by these picks.

Without further ado...

Dressing room reviews of Tucker for Target:

Dress #1:
[$34.99]
PURCHASED (in size XL--specifically for longer length).
This dress belts at the waist... The print is GREAT... And, well, I heart it. The End.

Dress #2:
[$34.99]
This dress is the same style and cut as the first, however, I was not too fond of the creamy color of the background of the dress. It was, to me, too yellow-y white and not really what I was looking for.

Dress #3:
[$39.99]
PURCHASED in size L (I'm pretty sure).
Did you see the pockets? You all know how much I LOVE DRESSES WITH POCKETS! Yes, I do! And, I absolutely LOVE this orange! I have so many outfit ideas revolving around this dress... so many boot and dress combos... Woo!

Dress #4:
[$39.99]
The cool thing about this dress is the fact that you can wear the ruffles in the front or in the back. I chose to wear them in the front for this picture, but wearing it ruffles in the back looks cute too. I didn't end up purchasing this dress only because I found it to be a bit too short--both in the L and the XL.

Dress #5:
[$39.99]
PURCHASED in size L (I tried on the XL, but it was too loose on the sides, even with the belt tied).
I think that I was and am most excited about this dress. The print just screams TUCKER! and I LOVE IT! I can't wait to pair this with my Nine West boots from last fall... So excited! Come on fall weather! GET HERE NOW!

I am definitely excited about my three purchases today! I can't wait to work them into my normal (not working/wearing a shit-tastic all black uniform) wardrobe!

If you like any of the dresses I picked up today GO TO YOUR TARGET AND GET THEM... I have a feeling that these are going to go fast... Don't expect them to hang around until clearance rack time.

Here are a few other pieces I liked and that I tried on, and a few others that my Target didn't carry :(

(I liked, but didn't and don't need another purple dress)

Time to go hang up my clothes!
Later peeps!

:)

COOTD PRETTY IN PINK

If you pay any attention to my twitter you saw this already.
If you don't pay any attention to my twitter...
Well you suck.

Just kidding!
But really, you should be paying attention to my twitter.
It'll make you smile.
I make me smile.
My twitter makes me smile...
It's like a smile-fest over there (on my twitter)!

Saying twitter that many times made my head a little bit fuzzy, not gonna lie.
Now the word just sounds weird.
Twitter.
Sorry.

Getting back to my OOTD:

I wore my LC Lauren Conrad Henley Blouse Set for Kohls today during my Sunday outing.
I adventured to the movies.
I thoroughly enjoyed Resident Evil: After Life.
But that's just me.
I heart zombies :)
They make me smile--like my twitter will make you smile--okay I'm done now.

Back to da Outfit:

Top: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls (on sale for $30 purchase here)
Shorts: Old Navy
Shoes: Old Navy Flip Fops
Watch: Michael Kors

A technical idea - Twitter RSS to speech

DISCLAIMER - THIS IS NOT A DRILL
Ahem. I mean, this is a bit unusual. A geeky technical topic.

Earlier this morning I read the following tweet by British Beauty Blogger: "I wish Twitter was audio sometimes - would help me get through my tidying up a lot better!"

My mental cogs remembered the numerous projects that have been created at twitter conferences with typewriters automatically writing out tweets such as oomlaut created
or that of having a puppet parrot shout out a noise every time the hash tag for said conference was tweeted.

Clearly, I thought, this must be very easy. I know that Text to Speech already exists so all one had to do is incorporate an automated command of one of the many Text to Speech codes there are out there into the twitter widget code. Obviously a problem presented itself, which was that the twitter widget doesn't specify the text and therefore makes it difficult to place the code so that's where my coding limits ended.

Luckily, I had another geek coming round for breakfast, a friend of my partner (he doesn't want to be credited), who first went into all the problems and issues that arise (links, weirdly written words etc) until he pointed out that I could simply look for an already existing RSS feed to Speech code.

And voila - There's a Google application that does that! You need a Google Desktop 1 or above to install it and even then it only works for PCs so I can't actually confirm if the RSS TO SPEECH GOOGLE GADGET works.

However, the second issue is finding the proper RSS feed to implement. There's no known way to create an RSS feed of all your feeds, but what you can do is create an RSS feed for a list. So if you really want to have ALL of the tweets that you follow read out while you tidy up, work or whatever, simply create a list and add everybody you want.

Then copy the URL of that twitter list and input it into this TWITTER LIST 2 RSS tool. For example, I put http://twitter.com/LiraLeirner/fashion-blog which became http://twiterlist2rss.appspot.com/LiraLeirner/lists/fashion-blog/statuses.rss . Don't put in just your own, (for example http://twitter.com/LiraLeirner) because that will just create a feed of your own tweets - and that's boring.

This is where it stops for me because this gadget is only supported for for Windows Vista/XP/2000 SP3+ and I'm on a mac. But I'm assuming you input the RSS feed link and that should do it!

Let me know if it works or any othe rsuggestions you have if you're a fellow geek stumbling upon this article.

WEDDING #1

This evening begins my Week of Wedding!

Tonight I drive to Camden, NJ [not the safest place on the east coast] to celebrate the union on my coach and one of my former rugby teammates.

I am SOOOO SOOO excited for this evening!

I finally decided on a dress:

Here's a better one--just not of the whole dress--I'm working with my camera phone because my digital camera has officially gone ka-put--and currently I am unable to get a replacement:

I added loopy earrings and a few rings to the final outfit...

Time to hit the road!

p.s. Did I mention that I forgot about sitting down and eating--a main part of the wedding--well I did, and I just realized this. My dress is a little snug. I might be abstaining from dinner this evening... ugh damn.

I'll be updating via the twitter account tonight... feel free to follow me! It could turn out to be an interesting night--I dont know who will be there! Hopefully some of the rugby ladies will be there so I can catch up with them!! I miss my rugby friends! :(

BACK IN THE GAME...

It's a snow day, I feel particularly ill to my stomach, I was going to tan and work out, but that plan went out the window with my stomach ache... and online shopping, well dreaming about shopping and spending money, is the only thing that is making me happy :)

(I lie there... someone else is making me exceptionally happy, but that is a WHOLE other story that I'm not ready to put out in blog land yet.)

Here are the results of my online day dreaming at Anthropologie:

Again, I'm pretty sure I have a problem... shopping, well thinking about shopping, that is.
Me and my Uh-Uh... we've got issues LOL!

And once again, sorry for the absence. I've been occupied lately with work, job hunting, being a bum, and with a new friend.
These past few weeks have been pretty Awesome.
If only my job hunt was a little more positive I would say that life is pretty Amazing right now. BUT I'm just going to stick with Awesome since I'm real job jobless.

:)

If I get lazy again with the updates on here YELL AT ME on my Twitter (link is on the side bar ---->) I'm always near my phone and updating on Twitter is a little easier at times than getting to my computer.
