WHAT I'M DRINKING: LINDEMANS KRIEK LAMBIC

Starting a little bit of a new/old thing tonight (old in the sense that I used to talk about my tasteful alcohol consumption back in the early days of this 'ole site of mine)...

In addition to "What I'm Wearing" and "What I'm Tuning Into" I present you with... "What I'm Drinking"

On tonight's menu:

Lindemans Kriek (pronounced "Creek") Lambic
(Retail--in the $6-8 range for a pint bottle)

Simply stated, but not simple in the least, a cherry beer, which if you do not already know:

This beer is ABSOLUTELY delicious!!!

It has a very rounded cherry flavor, not too sweet, not at all bitter, just a little tart--just how I like my beers of flavor.

The color is a very rich berry color (like a cross between a fresh summer cherry and a ripe plum), which only emphasizes the flavor--yes, color has a lot to do with flavor, at least in my mind... I like both my foods and my beverages to look good--in my mind, they taste better that way.

My old boss from The Season's Bistro recommended having this beer over vanilla ice cream, like a root beer float. I bet if you served this with CHERRY ice cream your world would come to an end. If you try it out this way, be sure to give me a heads up to the end of your world... who knows, you and I might be the same shoe size (only in my dreams), or you might have excellent taste in music. If that's the case--WRITE ME IN YOUR WILL... NOW! (Please and thank you.)
