COOTD TEST TAKER

I had a test in ATL today...
I kicked it's ass.
End of Story.

The attire for the test required Business/Casual... my interpretation of that meant NO NYLONS/PANTYHOSE/TIGHTS! Have you experienced ATL in the summer?! It is effing hot here. If I wore NYs/PHs/TIGHTS I would melt... it wouldn't be a pretty sight; me sweating that much. Because as I currently stand, I'm a sweater... not a cozy sweater that you wear in the winter time, but a SWEAT-eR!

I blame it on my long legs...
No, seriously. I walk fast, unintentionally, but I just do. I don't like to be anywhere late, so I always arrive early, but I still walk like I'm in a rush, even though I'm not.
Really I could just blame the sweaty genes on my Uh-Uh... Remember, I have some of her vintage clothing. There are blazers of hers that she literally pinned extra fabric in the arm pits due to her sweaty-ness. Kind gross, but not when you remove the fabric and Double dry clean the clothing, but also pretty smart if you think about it. You have to sweat through the extra fabric before it gets to and ruins your clothing.
Smart lady, my fashionable Uh-Uh.

Getting back to my outfit:

Top: Ann Taylor Button Blouse
Bottom: unknown Scalloped Skirt [Marshalls]
Shoes: Franco Sarto Peep Toe Suede Wedges [eBay]
Watch: Michael Kors [mentioned and purchased through here]

Sorry for the crap-tastic photo... My camera is deceased and until I vacate the [real job] Unemployment Club, I will be relying on my camera phone until it goes ka-put. I also apologize for the lack of image of my bottom half, including the shoes. I was in a hurry, it was 6AM, I wanted to beat the Henry County traffic into ATL.

Oh, I would also like to vent/mention that the clothing that some people wear, regardless of I don't know what word/phrase I'm trying to use... I just think that individuals dress WAY TO CASUAL for work, especially those who work in government buildings, those who work in finance, and just overall, those who work in office buildings. Flip-flops, no matter how jeweled up they are, are STILL JUST FLIP-FLOPS and they shouldn't be worn in an office setting, neither should polo shirts or short sleeved striped button ups... that last one is just a personal pet peeve of mine, simply because I think that short sleeved striped button ups are U-G-L-Y.
Like I said, just a personal thing.

On a lighter, happier note:
Bonnie acquired 3 kittens this evening. All of whom were abandoned by their mother and still need to be bottle fed. I have been rounded up to help, and already one has decided that I am its. I've named him Charlie-Horse. No reason, just because, well maybe I had a strong love for all things LambChop related and I grew up loving that show and just happened to be talking about it the other day with some friends and it was on my mind tonight--quite possibly that is where he got his name.
:)
I don't know if she is planning on keeping them or just aiding the shelter/hospital and nursing them back to health to be later given to welcoming homes. I guess I will find out the full details later.

Now I am hitting the haaaaaay!

Adios Muchachos!

HELL to the NO!!!

A mother of one of my sister/cousin's friends thought it would be a BRIGHT IDEA to tell my 13 year old sister/cousin that prior to her wedding, in order to lose weight and fit into her dress, she went on a diet.

Her Diet consisted of Tic-Tacs and Tea.

(angry rant, with curse words will follow below... sorry in advance)

My first thoughts after hearing this were:

EXCUSE me BITCH! Who the HELL are you!? What the HELL are you SMOKING?!
Are you a complete FUCKING MORON?!
What on earth makes you think that telling 13 year old girls about your "successful" diet of Tic-Tacs and Tea is OKAY!?
Are you on CRACK!?

First of all you don't tell little girls that.
Second of all you don't tell MY sister/cousin that, especially when she is NOT of average weight.

Good lord you must be STUPID!

There is NOTHING nutritional about that "diet". Starving yourself is NOT HEALTHY!

If my sister/cousin were my child and some woman, one of my child's friends mother, said that to my kid that woman would get a piece of my mind!

That is BY FAR the WORST thing I have ever heard a MOTHER, let alone a WOMAN, say to teenage girls!

I know that my sister/cousin is smarter than that. I know that what this woman said will not be taken seriously, that she will not try this one day, BUT there are young girls out there who DO THIS! They STARVE themselves to fit into the image of perfection that society craves; the one that society expects of women.

It is truly sad to me, and royally pisses me off, that a woman would say this in the presence of young girls.

How ABSOLUTELY FUCKING DUMB!

GIFT GIVING RANT a la THE HOLIDAYS

I truly love the holidays.

Aside from the typical stress that surrounds my family during the holidays, I enjoy the season. I love the weather (even though I complain when I'm cold and complain about my car sucking), I love the down time of just relaxing by the tree just reading a book, I love the traditions that the holidays bring about, and the new ones that I like to try to create from the old. I love opening gifts, getting in touch with those whom I have lost (regular) touch with throughout the year, and I love giving gifts.

I believe that gift giving is the greatest part of the holiday season. Whether the gifts are homemade baked goods, clothing, electronics or a gag gift just to make someone laugh, giving a gift and seeing someone's reaction is the highlight of my holiday. I love seeing the reaction that a gift can bring someone; be it tears of joy, laughter, shock--you really got this for me, or the acknowledgment that they know you care. That is what I truly enjoy about the holidays... making someone happy.

I don't care how much a gift costs. If it is something that will bring the recipient joy then I am happy to be the gift giver. Granted I'm not going to get you a CAR, but damned if I won't get you a hot-wheels to show that I tried :)

I hate that people feel obligated to give gifts. I hate that people feel obligated to spend as much as someone else did. You DO NOT have to do this! Doing that is BS! Just getting someone a gift, or even just words of love and happiness (sorry, that sounds kind of corn-ball), is enough.

This is how I think:
If you are going to get me a gift. Thank you so much for thinking of me. If you cannot afford to get me one (or just didn't plan on doing that)... that's okay too you don't have to... it's not going to upset me. But dammit if you will make me feel guilty about getting you something (regardless of the price). I like giving gifts. I do it to make the recipient happy, and selfishly to make myself happy--because seeing whoever I am giving my gift to smile because of what I gave them makes me smile and happy to have made them happy.
