Style Inspiration: Mary Katrantzou Fall 2011

So, my dear blogging friends, are you ready for an eyeful of awesome? I sure hope so. Ready, go!

Like the Suno collection, this is more art than actual clothing. Have you or have you not ever seen so many sumptuous prints all together in one place before? (10 point word for the day: Sumptuous.)

I Love:
-The prints, duh.
-The rich, vibrant colors,
-The shapes. Not exactly flattering, but who cares?
-The styling. Hair and makeup are both quite simple, keeping the focus (rightfully so) solely on the clothing.
-The boots. Oh, the boots.

I Hate:
-Nothing. This is perfection.

Close-ups:
Quite possibly my favorite part:
Well, now that you've had more than twice your daily dose of amazingness, you can go to bed now. Wouldn't want to overload you or anything. :)

Style Inspiration: Suno Fall 2011

What's that? You haven't seen anything awesome today? Well, let's remedy that.

Suno is another name I'd never heard before, but I've been cruising the whole list of Fall 2011 collections on Style.com, and let me tell you, there is a wealth of talent out there in the fashion world. So often we hear the same names repeated over and over again (Dior, Valentino, Chanel, etc.) and don't even realize how many other talented designers are carrying on in the shadows of the fashion giants.

The designers behind Suno say this collection was inspired my grandma clothes. Awesome! What more reason do you need to love it? The goods:

Is this a wearable collection? No. But is it awesome? Yes, I submit that it is. The prints are simply gorgeous, especially the yellow floral one (1st row) and the head-to-toe gold and blue floral (5th row). The silhouettes, while not always particularly flattering, are stunning are very inventive and fresh. And it is styled to perfection... the hair and jewelry are excellent additions to the overall feel of the collection. Well done, Suno. Stay awesome.

Day 21: Favorite Shows

Day 21: One of your favorite shows.
Only one? Yeah right!

In no particular order...
Monk. I am madly in love with this show. It's about an OCD detective with a knack for picking up on clues and solving crimes that no one else can seem to be able to figure out. It's a nice balance is serious stuff and comedy.

The Office. I haven't been keeping up with the past few seasons of The Office because it's been going downhill quickly, but the first 3 seasons were hilarious. I have cried from laughing so many times watching this one.

Project Runway. Love. That is all. (By the way, Mondo was robbed).

Psych. This one is very similar to Monk. It's also a detective comedy, but this one is about two friends that have their own Psychic agency and hire their services out to the police and other clients. Neither of them is actually a psychic, though. One of them just happens to be very observant and pretends to "see" things that help him solve the crimes.

Say Yes to the Dress. I wasn't sure if I wanted to admit on the internet that I like to watch a show about wedding dresses, but I don't think too many people would be surprised that a girl my age, on occasion, thinks about her wedding dress sometimes. It's fun to watch and see which dress each lady picks.

House Hunters International. The regular House Hunters is kind of boring, but the international version is so fun! It's so interesting to see the houses in other countries.

Anything on the Tennis Channel. We switched from Comcast to DirecTV becase (a) it was a better deal for us, and (b) we would get the Tennis Channel on DirecTV.

High Stakes Poker. Almost as embarrassing as admitting to liking Say Yes to the Dress is admitting that I like to watch poker. Let me tell you, though, there's nothing cooler than watching people throw around hundreds of thousands of dollars like it's no big deal.
