For the next few days I might be absent, or knowing my procrastinator ass, I might be on da blog all the time... but for now I'm letting you all know that my frequency of posting or lack thereof will be do to my packing and moving over the weekend.

LEAVING ON AN AUTO TRAIN

Today I'm leaving on an AutoTrain.
I don't yet know when I'll be back again.

That's a lie.
I do know.

I'll be back for a week in July for two weddings! :)

I left home this afternoon.
It feels very strange.
I cried.
I'm just a baby like that.

I'm currently waiting for the Auto Train to begin the boarding process. I have no clue if I'll get any internet or even have access to any electrical outlets. It's probably a good thing if I don't since I need to desperately get cracking on studying for the LSAT. I take the test on June 7th!

Tomorrow morning I arrive in Sanford, Fl and then make the 7 hour drive to my brother's house in Georgia.

I'm excited.
I'm nervous.
I'm scared.
I'm sad.

I am feeling more emotions than I have even felt before. It's a good thing really; this move of mine. I need to take the next step, put myself 'out there'--wherever that 'out there' may be.

I said goodbye to my Uh-Uh this morning. My uncle Bob told me she was crying after I left. I'm glad I caught her on one of her good days, but I find myself sad to think that the next time I see her she might not have any good days left.

She told me that she was happy for me and that she knew this was something that I needed to do, that everyone needs to do at some point in their lifetime. It was something that she herself has done many times before.

I'll miss her. I'll miss the woman she used to be before Alzheimer's took her away from us.

I'll miss my Maryland friends, my family, and the life that I used to know.

Here is to the Big Move... to starting fresh... to trying something new.

BROTHERLY LOVE

Just one of the many reasons as to why I love my brother:
He woke my from my much needed nap this late afternoon/evening with a text:

Bro: poker night wish you were here
Me: 6 days sucka... then i can kick your butt at all card games
Bro: lol right. we are going to have a blast
Me: :) we definitely are! im excited. i know its not guaranteed to be perfect but i know im making the right choice as to what the next step in my life is

Yesterday, while preparing to take the life of my left eyeball at work (it was slow, I had nothing else to do), I received an eyeball saving text from my brother:

Bro: 7 more days??

Lately he's been reminding me via text messages AND random phone calls that he is beyond words excited for me to move down to Georgia and to be near the family (Him, the Wifey--preggo and due in August, baby Brayden, Jaquita, and Kenna -- plus momma in law Bonnie AND my SIL Lucky and her eventually to be fiance/husband whenever they get around to it Mike).

My brother is not a big caller. I have to remind him to call grandma and check in with her. He'll text me, sure, but it'll usually be days later just like his phone calls... He's just a busy boy--oops man/awesome brother/dad x's 3 soon-to-be 4. So I know that with all of the recent phone activity he is TRULY EXCITED and HAPPY about this big move of mine...

You know what!?

SO AM I!

Adios Maryland!
(in 5 days)

HOLA Georgia...
or should I say:

"Hey y'all"

(But I'm still no where near where I need to be packing-wise)
(Thank goodness for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evening off)

THE NEWS

This lady, YES, ME, is moving to Georgia... MAY 1st!

Little by little my things are being packed, sorted through, placed in donation bins, and/or being stashed away in the attic of my aunt's house for the day that I really need them.

Tonight I let my Aunt and Uncle know about my plans. I can tell that my aunt was upset (her silence was my answer) and my uncle conveyed his support. I know they both love me, and I love them--and am more thankful than they will ever know for everything that they have ever done for me, but now is the time for me to leave.

I had planned on leaving in January, right after graduation. Actually, this blog was supposed to be my REFRESHment--a blog about my new life in Georgia (when I had originally planned on moving), and in a way, even though I didn't leave back when I wanted to, this blog has definitely helped me.

But back to the move thing:

It's time for me to leave Maryland. I'm done with college, and I can go anywhere. Georgia isn't where I want to be right now--meaning it's not where I plan on "settling down"--but I know that staying in Maryland is NOT what I want right now. My brother and his family (my new family) are all in Georgia and I would like to be close to them for the time being. I'll still be applying to jobs (on a nationwide scale), I'll just be doing it from a new location.

In all honesty, I'm truly not happy here anymore.  A lot has happened recently that has made the unhappiness rather painful. I'll eventually get over all of that, but in a way I'm thankful for it because it has helped push me to do what I wanted to do in the first place: go to Georgia and try something new.

I admit that I am scared. I don't know if this is the right decision for me, I just know that staying here is not right. It doesn't feel right, and I'm not happy. I always promised myself that I would do things and make decisions that made me happy, and so far I have kept that promise to myself, and I have no intentions of breaking it.

So for now I'm going to work my ass off this month to save up some extra money for the move. I'm going to say goodbye to my good friends. I'm going to pick my head up, try not to cry anymore, and just try to find some happy before I leave.
